My entire family wants to thank you for bringing the reel to reels back to life on DVD. Although the tapes were old, the color and content were of the highest quality. Many family members lost photos in the California fires, so you can imagine the joy when they saw themselves on DVD. I highly recommend your trustworthy service to anyone wanting to preserve memories from reel to reel tapes.

Legacy Digital did an excellent job transferring all of my 8mm and 16mm film (total 7800 ft.) to my hard drive. The job was done professionally and on time. Scott did an great job explaining the procedure and seems very passionate about his work. I highly recommend Legacy Digital for all your transfer needs. Thanks to Scott and his staff my grandkids can now easily view and enjoy their family relatives dating back to the 1950's, 60's, 70's and 80's. Great fun to watch and listen to their reaction!

Not only did you do a fabulous job, working with you made the whole process enjoyable. Picking up my films and also personally delivering them helped me feel safe about letting them out of my sight. I was deeply touched. I consider these memories priceless.

Very satisfied, but you have to be patient. I had 1700 feet of old (1950 - 70's) 8mm and Super8 film digitized. Converted to both SD and HD formats onto a disk drive that I supplied, so files are quite large (20GB for 8" reel - 400'). But the higher resolution (than DVD using mpg2 compression) is better for my purpose of video editing. HD is 1920x1080, but of course the image is still the original 4 x 3 aspect ratio (which makes the picture part 1440 x 1080) so as expected there are black bars on either side -- but resolution is as good or better than the film (some sites estimate 8mm film resolution to be around 800 by 600). It took about 7 weeks (they said 6 to 8 weeks), so be prepared to deal with that turn-around time. But quality was superb -- with the knowledge that film stock does degrade/fade over the years. But the video files that they produced was what was on the film, and in fact is _better_ than what I'd seen before with a projector, because now the lighting is consistent and doesn't fade or blur towards the corners.

This is long overdue... I just have to say "Thank You" Carter and the team at Legacy. My mother passed last year and I had about 5,000 feet of 8mm film. I've dabbled in video and then multimedia myself since High School and figured I'd get to it someday. Well, when my mom passed it was time to get after it. Rather than tackle the job myself I entrusted the folks at Legacy to handle some cherished film that was 50+ years old. It was a little of a rush job, but Carter worked on it and had it ready for me sooner then promised. It was all on a external drive I purchased (at his recommendation) and my boxes of film were returned to me, spliced, labeled and in excellent condition. The digitized files exceeded my greatest expectations. The end result is better than the original film itself. HD, color corrected, no flicker and perfect frame rates. I cannot say enough about how great my experience was with Legacy. I highly recommend their services to anyone considering film conversion. Absolutely fantastic!

Fantastic job of X-ferring my old 8mm and Super 8 sound reels. Picture quality was greatly improved with the right amount of color, light, and darkness. Just a beautiful job and it's like visiting my family once again. Easy to recommend. Pricing also was very fair.

Thanks to Scott I now have all of my mom and dad's 8 mm film from the 50' and 60's preserved on hard drive. It's such a pleasure dealing with a real person one on one let alone the owner of the company vs. a Costco or big box store. The quality of the conversion from film to hard drive is excellent and now I can play the movies on a flat screen TV. What impressed me most is that Scott will take time to explaining the process he uses and how it differs from other companies. As far as the pricing what are your once in a life time memories worth from 60 years ago. You can always pay more and get less as well as paying less and getting what you paid for. I feel I received Hollywood quality at a reasonable and fair rate.

Scott, the owner of Legacy Digital made me ( a total non computer person) feel very comfortable and explained which media was best for converting our old memories from several different choices. He was so patient and communicated with me the whole way! I am thrilled with his expertise advice! I learned a lot from him! After trying two other digital transfer services for my home movies, I found success on the third try. Thank you for doing an excellent job with my old movies. This took longer, but the result was far better than I received elsewhere. I will use your service again in the future.

Fantastic, is the word I would use. My parents had taken 8mm movies of the family back in 1957 thru 1972. Had all the families, both sides, and friends, in most of the movies. Some of these old movies were 60 years old. Many hours of family movies, the old days. Scott, who I spoke to, the owner of Legacy Digital, assured me customer satisfaction was his goal. He spent some time explaining the process to digitize the film. Really, when was the last time you spoke to the owner of a business, on his cell phone. Long story short, the results of the film to digital were fantastic. The film is cleaned before the transfer begins. I showed my 90 year old aunt some of the film, she had tears in her eyes. She was about 28 years old when some were taken. She saw her dad who died in 1960, saw her son, died in 1986. If you have old or new film that needs transfer to digital, go with the best, Legacy Digital. Scott and his staff will take the time to transfer it correctly and to your satisfaction.

The team at Legacy Digital Productions not only converted our old family films to digital media, but they also returned the film reels to us in better condition than when they were provided to them. Some of our film was brittle and breaking. They actually reconditioned the film so I think the originals will last even longer. But we don't need them because the picture quality from the transfers are amazing. Thank you so much for helping persevere these precious memories.

Legacy did a great job transferring a 400 foot reel of 16mm color movie film from 1943-1945. The quality was much higher than I expected, given that the films had been (improperly) stored and unused for about 50 years. I will be using Legacy to transfer more of these family treasures in the near future.

I had a lot of 8mm tapes I needed converted before they got the chance to deteriorate. After searching and searching I contacted Legacy Digital Productions. After a lot of hesitation and fear of losing tapes, I convinced my mom to finally have these tapes converted with assurance from Scott. Scott drove out to my house to personally pick up the 20+ tapes. When they were ready, Scott delivered them safely back. It's a truly priceless feeling to see your old memories played back. To hear the voices of those we've lost. I can't thank you guys enough. We also had some old films converted for my mom to DVD. I am a video professional but was wondering if legacy digital could do a better transfer job than I could. Yes they can! These folks are great! audio and video quality was superb and the effort put toward transcribing the chicken scratch on the original tapes onto the new file names was awesome! my order consisted of 8 mm and hi 8 millimeter video that I was having trouble digitizing on my systems. super easy to work with.
